From June 5-15th I will be in Jordan and Jerusalem for a conference on cooperation in the Middle East. Topics will include the politics of water (who has it, who needs more) and of course there will be side trips to see a little of the history (more rocks for my rock collection!). Stayed tuned.

Paris airport
Even the French are stopping people from smoking in public places. Their solution to this is to place glass boxes in the airport for smokers! I thought the one I saw was a glass elevator but noticed it was full of smoke and full of smokers....I gave it a miss.
They used to have them throughout the USA, you could always tell where the smokers were by the orange walls..... I wonder if it ever occurred to people the relationship those walls have with their own lungs?
